Ofenbach became popular in Romania with their hit, „Be Mine”, but now they’ve dropped a new single, „Katchy”, which peaked no. 45 in Kiss FM Top Airplay 100. We were lucky to catch up with Dorian and César from Ofenbach, for an exciting Q&A, where they revealed some interesting facts about themselves.
Dorian, how would you describe César with two words?
D: Hmm, curly and pianist!

C: Hmm, do you know that song „Crazy Frog”? That’s the perfect way to describe my friend.
Guys, you met when you were just 13 years old. How did you decide to make music together?
C: We started in UK, making covers of rock bands. Dorian was playing the drums, and I was playing the guitar.
Why did you choose the name Ofenbach for your project?
D: When we started to mix in small clubs in Paris, we had to find an interesting name. We were like... hmmm „that or that or that?”. And then we found a musical partition from Jacques Offenbach, and we thought that his name is really interesting. So we took his name and we took off the second „F”.
What musical genres inspire you the most?
D: We take our musical influence from rock music, from bands like Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin. We try to mix classical rock music with electronic music.
You became famous in Romania with the hit „Be Mine”. The music video of this single is a little bit erotical. Who came up with this naughty idea?
C: The naughty director called Richard F. Coelho. He is portuguese, he came with this naughty idea and we find it interesting for our song.
Will you try this naughty experience one more time?
C: Yeah, but in real life, with two or three girls, hahaha!
You played a number of festivals. Which has been your favorite so far?
D: There are some places that we love, but we always enjoy every festival and every party where we go. We are really open-minded guys and we love to discover new things everyday. Our dream is to play at Coachella.
What do you think about Untold?
C: It’s a cool festival and we would love to play at Untold next year!
Who would you love to have a colaboration with?
C: Hmmm, a rock singer! Maybe Jack White, Black Keys or Portugal The Man.
You travel a lot together, so tell me, which one takes the longest to get ready?
D: I don’t know, sometimes I’m the one who is late, but sometimes is César...
C: Hmmm, definitely Dorian! But if I want to change my hairstyle I spend more time in front of the mirror.
What are you favorite and your least favorite things about touring together?
D: It’s great to travel together, because we are really good friends. But it would be terrible if we had to share the same room.
C: C’mon, sometimes it’s funny to sleep in the same room. But I think the privacy is the most important, because you need to be alone at the end of the day.
D: Yeah, if you wanna try masturbation! Hahaha!
You are for the first time in Bucharest! What do you think about the city?
D: Hmmm, we didn’t have time to visit the city, but we want to take a picture with that huge palace that you can see from the moon.
What do you have on your bucket list?
C: We want to release an album next year, before summer. We have already the name for it, but it’s a secret for the moment!
